I didn't see this coming

Last night a player for the Golden State Warriors (Patrick McCaw) was severely injured. I went to ESPN to get an update this morning. What I found in the comments was very familiar.

Dave Ross
Doctors will actually look after him.

Huge Gainz
Dave Ross Good one. I'm sure God can aid the doctors in there assessment of McCaw though, no? Unless, of course, your snark originates from a belief in Athiesm. In which case, since there is no supernatural rhelm, no soul, no spirit, only matter, then there is no such thing as free will or free choice. We are all pre programmed matter and simply reacting chemically to our DNA. So your comment, Scott's comment, and even this comment mean nothing. Because everything means nothing. Hitler's "decisions" were pre programmed. My "decisions" are pre programmed. There is no "right" or "wrong", there just "is". Fun world to live in...

in that second comment. It's so typical of the kinds of ignorant reactions people regularly post in comment sections. I can't read them, frankly. My neck gets too tired from head-shaking and face-palming.

I sometimes read the first dozen. Some articles attract thousands. Who's got that time?

I never join in. And I certainly wasn't expecting religion at ESPN. Is there no escape?

I like Walt Kelly's art. And believe it or not, there is little to no religion in this comic.

"It's all part of God's plan" = "The choices you make determine the afterlife you'll enjoy/experience/endure"

Get it now?

It's all so clear and beautiful.

And clear.

nothing is actually what it appears to be, oppression is the free will of god. Freedom is the oppression of your free will...

Up is down, bad is good...

It requires some serious suspension of your intellect to keep up.
