But why did they pick her?

(49,533 posts)I would imagine any lobbyist is hired for two things:
1) Their rolodex.
2) Their rapport with legislators.
Regardless of her personal political views, she supports secularism, and has both of the above.
I'm just fascinated why this is such a big deal to some.

Her rolodex and the legislators that she has rapport with seem the least likely to fall within that realm.
It's just very curious.

Of course!
I'm sure those wiser than me will explain it.

(49,533 posts)Oh wait, did you think we are supposed to fall rank-and-file behind him? Hehe, that's funny.
I, like Myers and many other prominent freethinkers, am a bit curious about this pick but fail to see why you think it's some crushing blow against progressive atheists.

(49,533 posts)Again, Im skeptical. Even if there are secret secular Republicans, they have to answer to a very religious base. But Edwina seems to have exactly the qualifications that the ED of the SCA should have, so Im going to give her the chance to try Unlike some commenters who are already talking about automatically pulling their support from all SCA member organizations. Im going to refrain from a boycott until, you know, she actually does something wrong.
Gee, a fair and calm reaction. She's much less worked up than you are, rug, and she's a board member of the Secular Student Alliance, one of the SCA's member groups.

(49,533 posts)If you aren't upset about what he has said, why should I be about Ms. Rogers, when I don't even belong to the SCA?
Is that your connection?
Ok.
