Remember Freelancer?

I dusted off the disc a week ago and searched for mods and servers and to my surprise it's still going on.

The place for mods/addons is The Starport (www.the-starport.net) where you'll be able to pick up the discless .EXE and the global server workaround.

The server I'm playing on is the Discovery official server, it's supposed to be heavy RP (YMMV). The forums are at www.discoverygc.com

I'm having hella fun staying up all night pounding the tradelanes, trading like mad, so one day, a battleship (or at least a cruiser.

I loved Freelancer. Elite was my game of choice for my old Commodore 64, and I can't get enough of the interplanetary space trading/combat type of game.

I'll have to check it out. Thanks!

But I loved that too, for the short time I had access to it.
I was beginning to think I dreamed it, soooo loooong ago.

Was always a bit miffed that it was a one shot.

Recently got into X3 and it's new expansion which reminds me a lot of Freelancer. Only problem is X3 has a huge learning curve and pretty poor documentation, unlike Freelancer which is pretty much, click, fly, and fun
