this is, essentially, the starting QB's first real season as the starting QB in the NFL.

I am hoping for a winning season... but not dominance in the NFL...

They have a lot of talent. So we see how they settle down in the next few weeks.

Look out for the Cowboys as well! As long as Dak can stay healthy. Deadly defense.

Kittle, Woerner, Deebo Samuel, Aiyuk, Juszczyk, McCaffrey, Mitchell on offense,

The most underrated QB since David met Goliath, backed up by Sam Darnold, an offensive line that held up well, if not great,

then you have a powerhouse of mostly all-pro's.

Purdy showed really advanced QB skills, reading the entire field like a veteran.

Shani's play calling left a lot of players open.

Prejudice aside, the roster is top shelf.

I expect a couple of Super Bowls from this collection of talent, if they remain together and healthy.

But Purdy is still, essentially, a rookie NFL quarterback.

Like I said... I hope for a better than 50-50 season... and I could be surprised.

But there are a lot of surprisingly good teams this year.

by most sport prognosticators. San Francisco was picked second.

As of today, oddsmakers have them ranked third behind K.C. and Philadelphia to win the Super Bowl.

Rounding out the top eight:

4) Buffalo

5) Dallas

6) Cincinatti

7) Miami

8) Lions

Complete list at the link: https://www.vegasinsider.com/nfl/odds/futures/

Injuries are a factor for all teams. My biggest concern for the 49ers is their O-line, especially right tackle Colton McKivitz, and how he protects QB Brock Purdy.

EDITED TO ADD:

Toughest opponents this year IMO:

Oct. 8: Dallas
Oct 29: Cincinatti
Nov 23 (Thursday): @Seattle
Dec 3:@Philadelphia
Dec 10: Seattle

November 23 through December 10 will be a challenge.

They'll be a well-traveled team with Eastern games against Cleveland, Minnesota (back-to-back), Jacksonville, Philadelphia, and Washington.
