Anyone here remember Roman Gabriel?

Back in the 60's when there were only like 3, maybe 4 channels on TV, we got the NFL West Coast late game here on the East Coast. CBS had the Rams on almost every Sunday. Gabriel was your proto-typical NFL quarterback. Strong in the pocket and had an arm that was dynamite. On defense, you had the Fearsome Foursome. Loved me the Rams back in the day.....

not with the Rams. He was with the Eagles in the mid-seventies competing against my Giants.

Also did a movie with John Wayne...The Undefeated.

2. Sure, I remember. He was a lot bigger than the QBs of the time at 6'5".

He was tough to bring down. He also did some acting — he was a lot better quarterback than an actor.

3. Definitely. Don't see his name often. I met him on field at NC State game.

I was in a pee wee team — like 10 years old — that played a game before the State game. Gabriel shook everyone’s hand. Till this day I think of him as a giant, he was so tall compared to me.

Having Jack Snow didn't hurt. I always thought that Jack never got the credit he deserved.

... Seemed like a genuine nice guy. Camera loved him. Still around and in his 80s.
