New bike coming in tomorrow...From Taiwan..

Never rode a bent before..its going to be a challenge from everything I've read
and the youtube vids...some of those are pretty hilarious..I do a lot of dirtroad
biking on the specialized hardrock..some asphalt with the spec tri-cross...This is
going to be completely different...for awhile...

Bicycle inventors are a unique lot.

A friend from college, his grandfather as a child grew up in the neighborhood of Orville Wright in Dayton, OH and watched him tinker with bikes in the garage.

I have a couple of friends who ride 'bents. Mike is a shameless proselytizer. You might start with platform pedals until you get the hang of it. It has a great benefit in that you can easily put both feet on the road. Both my friends use Shimano SPD mountain bike pedals and cleats because the pedals are double sided. As fast as 'bents are on the flats and downhill they are harder to get uphill. Amy says, "

Keep rolling and keep the rubber side down.

I'll start running the derailleur and brake systems today..Have a broom handle stuck through

the rear strut..by the shock, supported on adjustable work stands..and the front tube by the crank

is in the spin doctor. Had to cut 5 inches off the boom to have a comfy leg distance. Called

the distributor, said that was ok...Will have to watch hitting the foot while steering..hope everyone

Is out biking their brains out.. .
