The Yapping Mutt Report
The El Paso Chihuahuas bullpen has been a positive all season long and on Sunday night, five relievers combined to lift the Chihuahuas to a 5-3 win against Albuquerque in front of 8,484 fans at Southwest University Park.
It was a much needed win for 45-45 El Paso heading into the three-day All-Star break and what was their final home game until late in the month. The Chihuahuas embark on a 12-game road trip beginning Thursday.
With Sunday's win, El Paso finished 2-3 vs. the Isotopes on the five-game home stand. "It was a good win for us. It wasn't a splashy win but a good team effort," El Paso infielder Cody Decker said. "Our bullpen pitched a great game."
The Chihuahuas, who are 26-26 at home this year, are 7 and 1/2 games back of Las Vegas in the Pacific Southern Division of the Pacific Coast League.
