Round 2 for Tiger!

Friday 10:30 EST tee time.

Still in the hunt with a 1 over round Thursday.

If he can stay on the fairways, out of the hazards, and chip and putt like the old Tiger...well, this could be something! He looked a little rusty, but played well for it. Still has the fire!

Was a bit erratic, but looked pretty steady the last six holes. He had some horrible shots early, but kept his poise and avioded disaster on the scorecard.

In the hunt? Well, yes, technically, but eight shots back is a pretty big hurdle. Especially at the Masters.

So, it is probable that he isn't coming back to the pack with any great speed. It's going to take some good play to catch him. Of course, anything can happen, even to guys at this level. Ask Greg Norman.

But, he's playing so well, is so even keeled, and is young and invincible.

The New Yorker had a good piece on him and Tiger yesterday, but I'm all for Jordan.

The Masters online will let you watch "Amen Corner" live streaming.

Woods is expected shortly, around 12:30, 11:30 Central?

He's tied with seven others in 19th place. If he plays the rest of the tournament like he played today, he'll be on the leader board by Sunday. Spieth is on fire, and even my idiot magic 8-ball says he wins the green jacket.

Augusta doesn't like low scores like his, and he expects Saturday the course conditions will be changed, grass cuts and lays, etc., the stuff groundkeepers do to affect players game. Plus the weather has been forecast to turn, and he will be getting a longer, later starting tee time, of course.

Most of the great Master's winners gradually built up leads, not like Spieth shattering course and PGA records. For the 'integrity of the game' and all that, they'll want closer numbers for more players. Spieth lose a few holes, Hoffman and others catch their games, and Sunday will be another major classic.

Especially if Tiger gets in the game!

Months went into preparations and narrowing of the fairways

But the pin location is the big trick. Groundskeepers know the wicked places to place the flags that can turn a hole from a given par into a potential bogey (or in Spieth case, from an birdie to a par ); drive for the show, putt for the dough
