I went to music camp at KU many decades ago and have pleasant memories. It was the only bright spot in my high school days. I went to music camp, had a great time with all the orchestra kids who loved music, and then went home and got depressed because I thought "I've got one more year of high school to deal with before I can go to college and don't have to put up with this crap".

The kids all stayed in those dorms next to the freeway and we walked down the hill behind them every morning and across a big field to the music building. I remember the pond and the bell tower, and Comanche of the Seventh Cavalry in the natural history museum.

Very educational stay. First visit to a head shop, the Campus Madhouse.

2. One of my long removed cousins was the chancellor of KU.

My sister went there right after Wilt Chamberlain.
