My english professor just recommended I submit my short story to UCSD's Clarion Writer's Workshop!

It was just a little speculative fiction exercise on gender roles in a post-apocalyptic future set as a little slice-of-life vignette. I'm jazzed, of course, but the timing (I need to finish a full slate of classes the next two semesters to get my AS) and the cost ($5K!!!) puts it a bit out of reach this year.

Well, there's always next year, if I can save time and money. In the mean time, I'll clean it up a bit and see if they'll take it in the college literary journal this year.

Woo-hoo!

That's a real honor and it means a lot that your professor thinks you'd be considered for it.
