One of the benefits of being a news person as a writer is some of the people

you at times see at city halls, or other government meetings. So I will offer some of the characters. On purpose I am keeping this very general.

1.- Older lady, white, dressed very conservatively. Yup, in April she wore a long skirt, long sleeve black blouse and flats. carried a notebook and a very well dog eared copy of the bible. She also wore black glasses, metal rim, round, and she started berating the City Council about the end of days. Now, for some strange reason, that is not part of the agenda, and not covered by the Brown Act, still... they were polite and gave her three minutes. She literally warned them of hail and brimstone.

2.- We also had our younger activist, African American, who is dressed in very colorful African clothing, I guess it is Ghana, but I am not sure, and not an immigrant. She came to the City Council to address them on on saving a music site. She carried herself very much with a straight back and lectured them on why art and culture matters to the people. Since that had to do with a city park, they paid more attention. Her voice carried throughout and I fear that mike was really not needed.

3.- Of course we have the older lawyer type, tweed suit brown, with white shirt, that actually looks starched, and brown tie that could go back to the seventies. Plastic glasses, a briefcase, wears well worn loafers, using a cane... he came to city council to scold them on the budget and he knows as much about the budget as staff. His voice is soft, and when he addressed them, which he does often, he is stiff as a board.

These are just three very broad sketches... run with them to create characters.
