He called up some friends of mine in Dallas to tell them about it, and that he was interested in finding out if it was worth anything with an eye toward selling it off if it was. He called them up and said, "Hi, this is Stan Lee." They said, "yeah, sure it is." But it was really was, and he asked if he would send them a shoebox full of stuff he had from his Marvel days. He did, and just the stuff in the sho box brought $200,000. Astounded, he said, "I have an attic FULL of that stuff!" He ended up selling millions of original Marvel art through them.

Once, about 20 years ago, when I had something to do in L.A. the guys in Dallas asked if I wanted to have lunch with Stan Lee. I said sure, but why would a legend like Stan Lee want to have lunch with a nobody like me? They said they would set it up if I wanted. I said, I WANT!! And so ,y wife, ma elder daughter, and I has lunch with Stan Lee. We had a great time, and stayed in touch. The next time I was planning to be out there, we met up for lunch again:

He had a drawer in his office full of cards to autograph, so I asked him to make one up for DU:

Skinner still has it. Optimist that I am, I thought Stan would live forever, and never thought to ask him to make one up for me!
So all I have of Stan are some photos, some emails, and the memories.
