Flight Behavior by Barbara Kingsolver

Just finished this book and recommend it. Kingsolver has been taking on serious issues in her more recent books. She is a good writer and a brave woman. Had to wait a long time to get it at the library. Worth the wait. Read it!!

and also enjoyed it. Global warming is usually talked about in terms of how our weather will affect us, but this book went beyond that to show that all living things on the planet will be affected as patterns change. Since I just love seeing butterflies, I have to admit that I was holding my breath throughout the book....the suspense was killing me.

Saw her speak at a book signing in the NW and got a copy of "Prodigal Summer" signed by her.

She took a little time to speak about the 2000 election, trashing Bush and stumping a bit for Al Gore.
