500 Nations

Been watching few of the Kevin Costner documentaries. Don't like it very much, mostly just the all too familiar story of defeat, humiliation and destruction. Why not instead tell and show just the story of pride, beauty and wisdom, for a change? For good example, for healing, for finding again balance in our relations.

But I know also a better story, many native Americans have come long way to Finland where I live, offering their ceremonies and traditions of healing and wisdom and sharing, reconnecting our peoples who departed tens of thousands years ago, and also seeing the beauty of our land and sharing our traditions.

And they have told very different stories, stories of recovering from addiction, power of forgiving, keeping the traditions alive and refinding them, stories of all tribes of men uniting with new pride in struggle for the good of all of us, stories of peace and love and beauty of life.
