"What is owed" by Nikole Hannah-Jones of NYT magazine and the "1619 Project

In depth, well researched article on the hundreds of years of systemic repression of black Americans ability to accumulate wealth from the 250 years of the stolen, unpaid labor of enslavement to the 100 years of government sanction Jim Crow era to real estate red-lining and of course origins of the police from the deputization of any white man in the sound to stop and question any black man and return him to his "master", to now where George Floyds can be killed on camera by a white cop.

It's eye-opening to even those who are well-read on the subject. It is long so take your time and save it and go back to it.
