Related: About this forumI saw something pretty entertaining in the Bernie Group ...
Another Black Bernie group has formed: "BlackBerners".
Of course it is from reditt, posted to DU by a non-Black person and has fewer followers than an inner-city store front church ... but, for a fun time, go to the site, and read the site's posts ... some of the comments are cluelessly comedict gold.

(31,849 posts)(White DUers posting Blacks presenting what is clearly a minority opinion among Black folks) is any different from the right trotting out EJ Jackson or Thomas Sowell, to pimp a different white supported, but Black rejected position ...
And, the only responses I get is to be called a racist and a bunch of outraged word salads.

(89,240 posts)the ones supporting sanders still support the democratic party and will support whoever the dem nominee is.
but i understand you are more talking about tactics used by the whites .
and i will say it is a turnoff either way. when i supported Obama there were many minorities supporting clinton but i never responded in the way some of these sanders supporters have been doing. usually these people liked obama also so i would ask them to take a look at him and to consider him.
but i never lectured them on what is best for them.

(31,849 posts)I don't know ... two of the most "enthusiastic" (self-identifying) Black DUers ... the one's running to rec, any thread of any Bernie supporter posting anything that a Black person says, that is mildly indicative of supporting Bernie and defending the white person's right to post such threads ... have both said that while they may (have) vote(d) Democratic, they don't consider themselves Democratic AND they will not be voting (for President) if Bernie isn't the nominee.
But I will agree that that was an unfair assessment for most Black Bernie supporters.
JI7
(89,240 posts)like elected officials such as nina turner as compared to someone like allen west who most black people would not support .
but i still don't like the sticking in the face of black people about what is good for them .

(68,867 posts)3 Black ones, and 2 White ones (based only on their profile FB pics), post to our Mainly Minority Black and Latino FB forum to help turn the House Blue, that was started back in 2011. There are more Hillary supporters there then Bernie supporters for sure.....
"Stupid rich ass democrat dipshit" is what I was called....by an alleged Sanders Supporter because I own a small business.... and they were getting frustrated with our debate (as I do have the tendency to frustrate many due to what I consider good answers).....
Same person called me a "corprotist" (that is how they spelled it) and warned me that they were coming for my corporate loopholes!
this was on done on an political FB forum made up mainly of Black and Hispanic Democrats by someone identifying as advocating for Bernie Sanders. (I have a screen pic of this person's post whose name I choose not to reveal at this time, but if I need to prove the voracity of this encounter, I will). Person also said that I should be glad they haven't giving out my name yet, as they were thinking of siccing a bunch of progressive friends on me (their words).
How did this person know personal information about me? cause person looked up my FB profile which I thought was set to "only Friends"! Is someone can help me know how to set the privacy on FB, that would be great!
Yes, my hubby and I, with a partner, do own a small business. It's a relatively small Mom & Pop, in where we certainly pay a decent wages to our employees, some who have been with us since the opening of the business 28 years ago. In other words, we pay ourselves last, if there's anything left. I also have a 2nd career, and most of those earnings pay for our personal expenses, and the rest goes to lending the tiny business what it might need when required, which is too often.
This person also looked at my FB photos evidently, because they also told me that they certainly couldn't afford the kind of dinner table that I have. This person was looking at a picture I had taken of my Husband's 65 year birthday dinner party table, where I had joined two tables together to accommodate 18 guests. Yes, it looked like I had a huge table (as we switched out the dining room and the living room as the room is an open concept), but why is anyone looking at my pictures and telling me that they don't have what I have? Why do I have to minimize the grandeur of my decor in celebrating my husband turning 65? Seriously?
What is true is that I am not poor. What is also true is that I am not rich. The facts are, I am a struggling middle class person, an immigrant, who, with my husband (who was born in the Projects), have spend pretty much every dime we've ever had paying for our children's education (they are now grown), and have lived in the same house (it's a pretty nice house), for the past 26 years! Geeze.....I drive a 1998 Ford Explorer....
But why would I have to justify my life to someone calling me names? I didn't get that at all.
I understand that said person is frustrated, I'm sure. But to take it out on good minority Democrats (this group was formed in 2011) is ridiculous and counter productive, IMO.
We went back and forth, and this person eventually agreed that they would remove the post, coincidentally after I mentioned that my husband was also an unpaid Minister at one of the largest and oldest Black churches in the Bay Area, and that part of what we do community work all of the time. This church is not a mega church...it's a community building church in the heart of the flat lands of East Oakland, which is the Blackest and poorest area of Oakland.
If this was Sanders' Volunteer outreach, than that's not good, as this person is posting on a mostly minority site, and there are others like that there calling Hillary every imaginable name in the book! Liar, corporatist, bought and paid for, etc, etc, etc....And they are still there posting....although the volume appears to have been tone down, when the group founder put out a all capital notice pinned to the top of the page after that exchange and a few others similar exchanges went down!
But to intimidate, bully, snoop, assume and call names is a bit much for anybody....and a giant turn off to myself and to anyone who may have witnessed the conversation.
This person also did announce that they would not be voting for Hillary Clinton EVER, even if Hillary was the eventual nominee.
If this is how Bernie supporters are going to convince others in the caucuses, they may intimidate enough of the undecideds to win, but at what cost?
I posted this above in a thread at GDP discussing those Bernie supporters sick with Conservatism Dems....
and I got one response....
"It ain't easy supporting the Hillagarchy.
It's truly criminal the way some peons don't appreciate their betters."
so dripping sarcasm against me was what this poster felt compelled to state....

(41,965 posts)I'm not a rags to riches person, but I'm a homeless to housing projects, food banks, welfare and gov'ment cheese to a college degree and now I own my own home person. It's not fancy, but it's mine. I think the point of democracy is to thrive, to set up a series of customized opportunities and conditions where a diverse peoples CAN thrive. No one should have to apologize for doing well, or doing modestly, or struggling.
Attacking middle-class abundance, or a well loved home with accusations of heartless corporate ties, is weird, partly that's exactly what many of us want for all our dreams of winning the lotto. Family, hearth and home. Many small comforts and a few larger ones. The ability to reach out to those less blessed, and offer a hand and hope. These are valuable things. And as is often pointed out, empty rhetoric is not.

(31,781 posts)The thread in GD(P?) I *think* I trashed. So I would miss it.
The response to you there -
It's my impression - impression only (as I've not read the thread) is that those are the words of a person who might be only out for themselves.
They want your stuff! And - they resent you for what you have earned through sacrifice and hard work.
Regarding your Facebook group - I try to avoid those unless they have a higher purpose as yours most certainly does. So now you know - that individual won't give an inch for another unless "Me First".
I'm not mature like you - I would have (and have gotten in the habit of) started referring to him/her as Pamela. It's a Shel Silverstein reference.

of siccing a bunch of progressive friends on me (their words)."I'm so sorry, Frenchie!
Unfortunately this has been ongoing problem with BS' supporters.. the very first it became evident was when #BLM interrupted him @Netroots Nation.. and, it's only way downhill since then.
Finally on practically the eve of the Iowa Caucuses management has decided to try and rein them in..

The ones who barge into this group like a bull in a china shop make me laugh. Like, I'm reading an interesting discussion & all of a sudden there's an out of context post about feeling the bern. Then I wade through an admittedly hilarious subthread of misplaced anger and aggression and pompous stuff like 'For those of you who don't know, Harriet Tubman started the underground railroad' or some such lecturing. Like we don't know history and they just learned something new today.

Some of them go into GD and GDP to whine about it.. not giving those pesky details and it stays for hours before it's finally locked.
I've seen 2 or 3 of those calling me out specifically. If they told all the facts they know they'd have no case to whine.
Oh and the PMs we get.. so insulting.. not all though. Some are nice and apologetic.
I would never go into the BS Group.. I respect their boundaries.

(24,544 posts)I saw a passionate, intelligent black female Sanders supporter trying to appeal to these people and let them know that racism from their side does exist and she has seen Sanders supporters spreading it. And I see people basically telling her she doesn't know what she's talking about, that she is wrong and that this is all some "conspiracy" spread by the Hillary folks to keep black folks from getting to know Sanders.
People that learn NOTHING from history are doomed to repeat it. No wonder bravenak couldn't give the first damn about so many of these people and their hatred of her. I have never seen a more desperately clueless group of people and they seem to be imminently proud of it which makes it even more bewildering.
