OK So I am a white woman. And it pisses me off to no end when I read FB posts or some emails

(SPELL CHECKER WON'T WORK, ON A DIFFERENT COMPUTER, CAN HARDLY USE THE KEYS. PLEASE BEAR WITH ME.) sent to my mother, (people don't dare send them to me anymore) where the "topic" is something else but they use it to throw in a bunch of, mostly false, statistics where they are trying to make black people look bad

So I also go to this group to crochet once a week. One of the women I know to be a horrible racist, (who swears she is not a racist). Anyway, yesterday I looked on her FB page and she had one of those "list a bunch of statistics and other numbers and then say something that means nothing because you really just wanted to say that black people are on welfare."

This one was talking about Baltimore and its population being mostly black and how everyone is on welfare and the mayor is black and bullshit some more and then....

"Why do these blacks blame whites for all their people being on welfare?"

Or some fuck crap like that. I swear anyone here that is African American or black I give you credit for dealing with such idiots.

I AM NOT SAYING THIS STUFF JUST TO BRING UP THE FAKE STATISTICS. I GUESS I AM WONDERING WHAT YOU DO IF YOU KNOW SOOMEONE IS RACIST?

This woman also through my mental illness in my face last week when I complained about what she said about the president. She said I went all "bipolar" on her.

Fuck you bitch.

I don't understand how the others just stand by and say nothing. I commented under that last racist post of hers that it was sad that she was taught a belief system that guarenteed unhappineess and that it was also sad that she taught it to her children.

I can hardly type so please excuse the typos. My fingers are numb. I guess I wanted to complain somewhere and see what other's do so I came here.

born blind. Racism is not a black and white problem(excuse the pun). It is a gray curve on the chart. One can be at the far end of the non racist curve only by being aware of the fact that they do see differences and consciously are aware of it. That is the only way to counter act racism. Anyone that claims to be non racist are at the middle of the curve at best. The can't see the forest for the trees.
This may only be my view and may offend some.

but the type you describe is a very common type that is probably a majority of the people.

i'm sure she has been nice to individual black people she has come across also in life so of course she will use those cases to claim she isn't racist . but in reality she is as are others.

about sounds not only racist but desperately unhappy and cruel in many other ways. It is an all too common combination, I'm afraid. Her mind is closed to any beliefs but her own. What she doesn't realize is that her character is her own punishment. Unfortunately, she poisons the environment of everyone around her and the results can be toxic, like secondhand cigarette smoke or asbestos fumes.

I try to avoid people like her as I would avoid the plague because they literally can be fatal to one's well-being. I give my opinion and then remove myself when and where I can. Life is just too short. There are so many people in the world who are wonderful and inspiring. They are the ones I seek to be around.

But I am fortunate to have choices. Some do not. If you do not have the choice of removing yourself, the only thing that you can do is to manage your own behavior around the poisonous one, living your own life as you like and allowing your own humanity to shine through. While that is much easier said than done, yours is the only behavior that you can control.

Left the comment that basically said she raised her kids to be unhappy. If she tries to be my friend again I won't accept her.

It stinks because most people in the group do not seem like her at all. And she goes out of her way to be so nice to everyone. After she threw the "boploar" thing at me she started within a minute talking to another woman who's Mom was very sick, tellings what a good daughter she was and other slurp. Then she posted some quilt she had supposedly just finished so everyone could tell her how beautifuk it was.

I think she wanted to get far enough down the page so no one would realize how insensitive she was to me and also because she slipped and said she hadn't seen the president's video but just heard about it. She had quite the authoritsrian tone when she said he was faking tears when she hadn-'t even seen the video

EDIT - This keyboard keeps auto-correcting. I just typed this with a blue tooth commected keyboard.

Facebook is not the place to battle her. But if she makes these
comments when you are in her presence, that is the time to call her on them,
in front of everyone.

It's not ingrained when people are born. They learned from their family or friends or teachers. If anyone is different from u and pointed out this difference as bad! Color, culture, customs etc seem to make people in America feel they must be superior.

If white people would get to know others different from them, they would find out how stupid and ignorant their ideas are.

If your a poor ignorant white then making someone else beneath you is your option.

Btw I am white but I grew up having friends of many nationalities.
I've also spent 10 years working on Lakota Indian Res.
