We had Indira Gandhi (my grandmother had older friends who knew her!), Golda Meir, Benazir Bhutto, Margaret Thatcher - just off the top of my head. And currently we're certainly very aware of Theresa May and Angela Merkel, among others. Are all these other countries truly more progressive than ours??
