I gotten several calls this past year asking if I've gotten my black and white SS card yet?

I also hang up after telling them it's a scam and don't call anymore.

Just don't tell the bot your credit card number!
Maybe Bill Gates' card, but I haven't found it yet.

Give 'em hell!

(just kidding except for the "give 'em hell" part!)

When I mistakenly take a call like that. When it's time to speak, just start naming numerals like you're a bot. 3... 8... 4... 2... 9... 5...

Doesn't take long, they might think it's a security code that will catch them or something.

.... referred to as the Advantage Plan - Medicare/Medicaid providers have taken it up a notch to privatize the Medicare program by starving the government program of funding.

Similar to the extremist right wing idea to privatize public education. Public education funds are taken from public school systems and vouchers issued to then redeem the vouchers at private, chartered, or religious schools. This is how public education funds are rerouted to private often Christian educational institutions - this is called school choice - parental freedom to pick their child's educational provider.

This form of education privatization is often proposed to decimate the often unionized public educational system and replace it with privatized religious educational system that is allowed to openly discriminate on religious grounds - remind you - while public educational funds are diverted to support these religious educational institutions.

Privatized Medicare Advantage Plans work in much the same way. If the client (insured) has been invited to leave the governmental Medicare Plan and joins a privatized Medicare Advantage Plan a cash voucher moves funding out of the governmental Medicare Program and into the privatized Medicare Advantage Program. The funding moves with you to provide for your new privatized Medicare insurance coverage.

The insurance companies who provide the privatized Medicare coverage would like nothing more than to switch more and more clients out of the governmental program and into the privatized Medicare Advantage Program.

Eventually hoping to entirely shutdown the government Medicare Program and privatizing the whole elderly Medicare Health Insurance Program to be owned, run by, and administered by private insurance carriers. Once they have nibbled away and nibbled away until the governmental Medicare insurance program fades away and becomes nonexistent.

Then the private insurance companies will do the same to the privatized Medicare Program - " Advantage Medicare Plans" for the elderly what they have done to the private health insurance program primarily provided to workers/employees. The privatized Medicare program will jack up the yearly rates for coverage and the coverage for health issues will be severely curtailed and limited.

The pace to privatize Medicare seems to have accelerated recently. The private insurance companies recognize a cash cow ripe for the milking and want a bigger piece of the action.

To pick up the pace and induce Medicare recipients into the privatized "Advantage Plans" the private insurance carriers have brought on insurance marketing consultants who are aggressively marketing these "Advantage Plans" across the air waves. Adverts on the radio, television, and on the internet have flooded the mediums. You see them - $900.00 in free groceries - call in see if you qualify. Medicare now provides free dental work needs - including dental implants - call today. These sorts of offers are only come on schemes to intice and induce you to switch to the privatized Medicare "Advantage Plan". This up front loss leader to make you switch out of the government plan and into the privatized plan does cost them money. Because they are (momentarily) fattening the Medicare plan on the front end - above the government's plan offering. But once you are hooked and made the switch to the privatized plan - on on the back end they will recoup that up front investment by gypping you of adequate health coverage in your more frail age. This is why they refuse to allow you to switch back into the governmental Medicare plan.

These marketing consultant are very aggressiveand are paid very high commissions to get you to quit your government supplied Medicare Plan and join the privatized Medicare "Advantage Plans".

Once you make the switch then you find the privatized plan refuses to provide the medical coverage you so desperately need. Then try to switch back to the government plan where you did not have to fight tooth and nail for coverage. It is too late the privatized insurance providers refuse to allow you to switch back into the governmental plan.

Your health languishes and your medical issues become compounded and it becomes a wrestling match to get your medical needs properly attended to.

Privatized Medicare "Advantage Plans "are a boon for private insurance carriers. Your available coverage decreases. You co-pays increase. Your annual premiums increase. Your healthcare needs as you age fall by the wayside. The private insurance company Medicare providers could care less about you - as long as their profits maintain an upward trajectory - that is their primary and really only concern.

call earlier this year. The woman said Medicare had done away with the paper cards and are issuing plastic ones with a chip. I told her if they were doing this, then why hasn’t it been all over the news. I told her you are scamming me and she got really angry and talking back to me screaming no it wasn’t a scam and I hung up on her.
