and I love it. You can use it in the shower, rinse it under the tap, and it came with a form-fitted travel case and an extra set of those little round cutter wheels (it uses three). Charges in about an hour and holds the charge pretty well.

I tried shaving in the shower, but thought it was just a waste of water. But rinsing it out under the tap instead of having to use that little brush -- awesome.

The model I have is probably not made any more, but they must have something along those lines.

Many times you can find out of date models online at discount prices.
I once had a 3 blade Norelco knock-off. Chinese made? It worked pretty well but took a long time to shave.

Spent 40 years using a a razor blade. Finally said, fuck it....didn;t want to be tethered to the bathroom and mirror. Now, I shave when I feel like it, where ever....in the car, in the living room, in the kitchen, on the deck. Razer might give a cleaner shave, buti'm through with cuts and stepic pencils.

In addition to the high end 7000 series, there is a small model that uses AA batteries. It is very good as a touch up option when traveling. Recommend both; also the cleaning system for 7000.

Tried a Norelco years ago. Crap.

Tried a Remington years ago. Crap.

Started on blood thinners a while back and got tired of leaving the sink looking like a slasher film.

I was going to drop the $300 or whatever on the highly-touted German brand, but for some crazy ass reason I bought this instead on sale for $50:

https://wahlusa.com/shop/lifeproof-shaver-lithium-cordless-rechargeable-shaver-07061-100

If I don't shave for a few days, running the trimmer in front of the cutting head will take care of anything.

I love it. I cannot express how amazed I am by how good it works. I get really great shaves from it, and I've had it for three years. When I used electric shavers before, I would keep a razor handy for touch ups.

Whatever you get, do yourself a favor and get some "shaver saver" or equivalent. The German brand has some expensive cleaning stuff, but it's all the same stuff - alcohol and light oil of some kind. Put some on the moving parts EVERY TIME. It kills germs that will otherwise grow there and infect your face, and protects and lubricates the blades.

The other thing I have grown to believe, but don't know if it is true, is that electric shaving gets better the more regularly you do it. I don't know if it is a change in skin tone, beard growth, or just technique but that has seemed to be the case and I don't know why.

Based on wildly-varying reviews of electric razors, it may be that people have different kinds of skin and beard hair, which makes some razors perform better for some people than others.

So, maybe this one is a piece of junk for your face, but I have not bothered to get any blades for the regular razor that I keep around in case I want to use that.

I have used various Braun shavers for decades. Usually on the high end. I strong recommend getting the cleaning option. It cleans the heads while recharging. I have two: one in the house; one in my car. Not pretty, but I often shave while waiting at a stop light. Only need to charge ever 7-10 days.

I figured if this one didn't work out, I'd get one of the Braun shavers, which seem to be the most well-reviewed.

Still haven't pulled the trigger, eh?

You might also get some moisturizer for your face, since you won't be getting some of the moisturizing ingredients in shave cream.

You are going to rub this thing on your face pretty regularly, so you want to (a) disinfect and (b) lubricate it, so you don't irritate your face. I get a nasty rash if I get lazy and don't clean it.

You can rinse it off with some alcohol when you are done, and run the blades for a few seconds, or get something like this:

...which has alcohol, a little oil, and comes in a pressurized can, so you can use it to blow through the screen and blow off the blades. I usually do that last thing in the bathroom while the fan is running to minimize breathing it in.

It will keep it running well, avoid corrosion, and reduce skin irritation.

I did once have an issue with the trimmer blade, which can be -carefully- disassembled and reassembled.

Keep the clear plastic lid on it when not in use. It has saved the unit several times.

Electric shavers never worked for me, but the “super shavers” really work. See the reviews. Good for head too.

Cordless and a self contained rechargeable battery, has a straight trimmer pop up on the back, and is wet/dry.

Got it from Amazon. It’s pretty good for the money.

I bought a Norelco a couple of years ago, used it a few times and it is gathering dust on a closet shelf. My shaving experience improved when I just started using the gel shaving cream with my disposable razors. In my old age, I now only shave when I bathe, so only four times a year doesn't justify and expensive shaver. I just had my Easter bath and shave, so I am good 'til the 4th of July.
