Anyone here or that you know taking Lipitor for cholesterol? If so, did anyone you know develop

memory problems? I've been reading some of the side effects of the drug, in some, may cause memory or dementia problems.
I would like to know where I can find a reputable source that I can get some factual information.

that statin as the cause of memory problems, when any slowing of memory may be caused by the natural aging process?

I take atorvastatin. I've been taking a statin for about 25 years.
I'm 75.
Yes, I have short term memory 'deficiency'.
I call it deficiency, because sooner or later I can usually remember whatever it is.

Not immediately, but a few minutes later, especially if I don't think about what I was trying to remember.

Sometimes it's a few hours later.
It goes this way:
That guy who played Hans Solo in Star Wars?
You know.
The guy who played Indiana Jones?
That guy.
He was in "Air Force One"?

2 a.m. I get up to take a leak and "OH HELL, HARRISON FORD!"

P.S. I don't wake Miz t. up to tell her this.

about it at first but not much later saying it wasn't real.

These articles reference a JAMA article, and talk about other possible reasons for the correlation. I'm a nurse, working with people in their homes, including DD people who were concerned at the initial reports.

my pain was focused in the feet and legs - horrendous muscle cramps. I tried about 5 different brands.

Last year, my new doctor (I moved) started me on Pravastatin, and so far I have been able to take it just fine. Everyone is different, but you might look into it.

but I've seen ads on TV for a class action suit against the makers. Apparently it's related to type 2 diabetes. You'll have to google for more info, that's all I know.
