(5,455 posts)The ammo is nothing more then Hornady's hunting and self defense ammo with a green polymer tip instead of the red used in the hunting and self defense ammo.
Practical difference none, but I bet someone in marketing got a bonus.

(246 posts)Considering that Glenn Beck speaks at NRA/GOP events and his audience is primed for a zombie attack any day now. Good job by this company thinking "outside the box" and appealing to the racist gun nut base of the conservative movement.

(6,185 posts)Wow, even for a board as progressive as DU that's a hell of a stretch. Treat Zombies with respect?
The rest of the world sees this as a silly and fun gimmick to sell an extra box of ammo or two for display. But we've come to expect true insanity from gun control supporters, so keep up the good work.
And thanks for the good thoughts, Hornady is doing very well with pretty much their whole product line.

(246 posts)It would be helpful to your argument.
In general the Glenn Beck gun nut zombie bunker audience will tend toward extreme racism.
I'm sure lots of gun and ammo manuacturers are doing very well, especially since the SCOTUS ACA decision. Need lots of guns and ammo if you are planning a teabagger coup.

(6,506 posts)The only way that statement makes sense is if you assume that the people who get worked up, even jokingly, over a potential zombie apocalypse, are also racist survivalists. I see no reason to make that assumption; the few people I know who might buy this ammunition are socially liberal with a strong love of sci-fi. Have you not noticed that zombie-apocalypse-themed movies and TV shows tend to have multi-ethnic casts, and the black guy generally isn't even a token to be sacrificed at the first opportunity.

(22,144 posts)Like Hornaday, its a recoloring of an existing product. MTM makes good cases in general. I find them better than mil surplus metal

(15,396 posts)and I saw all different calibers today at my LGS. Stuff is over prices, but pretty cool to have in the background when taking pictures.
I thought it was funny that they would sell the individual components for reloading....I'm pretty sure there's no R&D involved in producing these, but a rebadged type of bullet? Am I wrong?

(2,955 posts)Unless you shoot them up enough to remove appendages, they just seem to shrug it off. After I emptied a box of that ammo at one, it still took a baseball bat to finish the job.
Damn.
