Free Gun Initiative Begins In Houston Neighborhood

HOUSTON (AP) — A nonprofit that offers free shotguns and firearms training to residents of high-crime areas has made a Houston neighborhood the site of its first gun giveaway.

Residents of the Oak Forest neighborhood, which has been hit by a rash of burglaries and robberies, say they are grateful for the self-defense help.

Amid the ongoing national debate on gun control, Houston-based Armed Citizen Project says it's trying to show that putting more guns in the hands of responsible owners can help combat crime.

That meals on wheels has been cut and head start, but giving out free guns and training is necessary. I guess we need to make up new maps that tell us sane people where the insane live, so we can avoid that town, and let them starve for tourist.

It won't raise the murder rate, but there is evidence that the home invasion rate will likely go down.

Last I checked, meals on wheels and head start was a government function, not a private function. But then, these guys could be contributing to all three.

before a gun buyback becomes a gun sellback becomes a free gun initiative and somebody gets back the same gun for free that they sold to the city.
