Anchorage police served search warrants at marijuana activist Charlo Greene’s Alaska Cannabis Club after receiving reports of illegal marijuana sales.

The police took marijuana and impounded a Dodge Dakota and a Jeep Liberty on Friday, KTUU reported.

Greene is a former television reporter who gained notoriety when she quit her job on live TV in September with an expletive and announced she’s becoming an advocate to legalize the recreational use of marijuana in Alaska.

Greene, whose legal name is Charlene Egbe, told KTVA the club is a medical marijuana dispensary. “We don’t sell any recreational marijuana. We don’t sell any medical marijuana. This is a place for cardholders to come and share their own cannabis,” she said.

"Alaska voters last year approved a ballot measure legalizing the recreational use of marijuana. But it’s still illegal to sell the drug."

How is one supposed to get it if they can't buy it. It's like you can have food, but you can't buy it. Grow it yourself, or ask your friends.

I have a lot of faith that Oregon will be able to implement legalization fairly smoothly, come July when recreational legalization takes effect.

I can't speak to Alaska, though.

there's a credit union just for those in the industry that's trying to get off the ground here. the state approved it late last year, but the latest update i saw was from early february and it said that the feds hadn't ruled on it yet. then there are the sheriffs suing to overturn it

i think it's going well enough so far.
