What American had connections to 3 Presidential assasinations?

He was invited to join the Lincolns to attend a play at Ford's Theater but declined.

He was with President Garfield when he was shot.

He had gotten off a train to meet with President McKinley when he was informed that he had been shot.

At the time of his death, he had been the last person alive who was present at the McLean farmhouse at Appomattox to witness Lee's surrender to Grant

should visit Ford's Theater in DC. The National Park Service does an excellent job interpreting the historic site with interesting exhibits, public programs and concerts. It's well worth the visit.
