And she's now Carys' chief competitor for treats. Not surprising because she's always been so fast.

The stripes on the rest of her show up in that lighting, but I don't see any on her face.

She's so dark that her stripes only show up in the right lighting. I looked it up and it's called "ghost stripes." That's where the contrast between background and stripes is so minimal that the stripes are barely visible.

There is one breed where ghost "spots" are part of the official color list. It is Egyptian Mau. In Maus, that dark coloring is called "smoke." Smoke Maus are not accepted as show cats, but they are accepted for breeding.

Maus have a distinctive spotted pattern instead of stripes and come in a few colors, but the only show colors are silver or bronze. Here are 3 Maus - smoke, bronze, and silver.

(The bronze colored Maus closely resemble an ocicat, but genetically, they are not related.)

Those pale eyes, those lovely long whiskers, and in that lighting her fur reminds me of tortoise shell.

This song just popped up on my in-brain soundtrack, so I’ll dedicate this one to Siwsan and the kit-and-kid-cats.

. . . be certain they cannot see the screen so they don't see what you are saying.

That expression on her face says "You are taking me to the vet for WHAT??? I'M OUTTA HERE!!"

I just love her serious expression. She's still so little, but she has a very mature face. She looks like what some would call an "old soul."

Looks like her eyes are trending toward yellow. I love yellow eyes on a black cat, because of the way they stand out. Love you, Sian!
