As long as Madoc is in the sun room, behind the closed, sliding glass door, Sian can roam free

Madoc is just still too hissy. I'm thinking if I bring her out for short periods of time, either when he's sleeping OR behind that barrier, Sian can come out and get LOTS of exercise.

The other three are great with her, although I keep my eye on Gryff because he can play a little rough. I think Arthur is in love, again. And Carys finally gave her Auntie Sian a good sniff and had zero negative behavior.

When Sian takes off on a zoomie, it's hilarious to watch the other 3 chase her. And Sian is a 'crab walking' kitten, when she wants to intimidate, which I always find to be adorable.

So, one more baby step taken. Now if Madoc will just accept things. Sophie used to hiss and growl at him, but she also kept her distance and Madoc figured that out.

I'd get an occasional display from the other kidcats but Sian has mastered the technique and thinks it makes her look FEROCIOUS!!

she is around other cats who are not her mom and are all bigger than her. I'm sure that's what prompted her to perfect the puffed up, tough girl look.

Ember, on the other hand, is an only cat. She came from a multi cat home that also had a dog. By the time I got her, her older half brother had attacked her and the dog had protected her. Her human had roughed her up. My home was like a safe haven to her. She did do zoomies so fast that she would have left Superman in the dust.

When I'd only had her a week, she growled once at a visiting friend of mine who got too close too soon. But no crab walking until she was 5 months old and a "stranger" walked into the apartment after knocking, without me opening the door for him. The stranger was a maintenance guy who works for my landlord and I was expecting him. But to Ember, he was a dangerous intruder who barged in on us. She instantly puffed up and crab walked around him while he cracked up laughing at her. I think that she was put off by being laughed at. She never accepted that guy afterward.

They chased each other around, for a good 30 minutes. Hopefully that tired her out and she'll take a nap.

I'll bring her out to the den later on. Hopefully Madoc will keep to himself but I'll be ready with a spray bottle if he gets stroppy.

now did this crab type walk for two or three years after we got her. I always called it halloween kitty. She is seven now and rarely does it anymore.
