Arthur and I are home from the vet

We're going back in on Monday and the vet is going to put in some stitches. He agreed it isn't nearly as pronounced as it was a month ago but it's nothing to dismiss, either.

Arthur certainly sensed something was going on because I had to chase him around the house before I could get him into the carrier.

I'm going to let him settle down and then they gave me a collar for him to wear. He's been doing a lot of licking and that just irritates the tissue. This is NOT going to be fun.

Before I do that, I have to catch, wrap him in a blanket and give him an oral med.

This has just been a very bad, stress and anxiety filled week. Which is to say, 2023 is not impressing me, in the least.

I hate to imagine what it will be like when I get him in that cone collar. Fortunately it will be for just 2 days.

I did manage to give him the oral medication with little to no problem.

I just wrap him in a blanket, lift the lip along the side of his mouth and squirt it in between his teeth. And surprisingly, I didn't have any trouble getting that cone collar secured.

I will probably have a lot of trouble getting him to stop being mad at me.

I gave them salmon pate for the first time in a couple of weeks. When they were eating poultry food, there was no problem.

So, even with absolutely no proof it is the problem, no more salmon for the kitcats.

I had a wonderful cat years ago who had a terrible reaction to some type of seafood.

Different, in that she developed "feline acne" on her chin from it.

Vet said it's quite common for cats to have allergies to fish.

How is he doing with the cone?

Ty for taking such good care of him. He is, after all, our DU celeb!

No doubt I'm going to spend two days just following him around.

The vet opens at 8 on Monday. I will be in the parking lot at 7:30 so I can, hopefully, be first in line. I was, today. Sometimes they opened the doors early. Apparently this isn't an all too rare of a condition. No doubt they will do some x-rays, just to be sure.

Then I go into hyper worry mode, even thought this is a very simple procedure.

I can hear him trying to escape it, again.
