Carys has been reverting to some of her earlier, more feral behavior

By which I mean she hasn't cuddle up with me in the boys for two days, now. I heard her vomit - nothing dramatic - so maybe she got ahold of something (I always blame stink bugs) that disagreed with her. She hasn't been lethargic or hiding away. She just doesn't seem to want human contact.

My friend, who is a very experienced cat rescuer, said not to worry. Sometimes older rescued ferals just back slide for a while. Carys was about 4 months old when she came inside.

Carys did let me pick her up and give her a cuddle on the way to the kitchen and she still rubs up against my ankles while I'm dishing up the food. So she hasn't completely turned on me.

Maybe I worry too much but if I find any more vomit, it's off to the vet we will go.

The cat I have now might throw up early in the day and again later in the day and that’s usually when the fur ball appears.

Cheap & easy to grow.

Cake pan & organic soil & wheatberries from healthfiod store.

Sprout seeds in jar for 2-3 days, plant & set pan in sun.

Previous holistic vet, the highly acclaimed Karen Becker told me to do this & it will stop all hairball yacking.

There's a health food store just up the road and they have a great 'sprouting' section. I'll check for wheatberries.

Pooper went through this last week. I was worried because she didn’t want to be near me and seemed down and even a little grumpy. She made a point to hang in a different room from wherever I was, which is very unlike her. She was still eating and drinking but I was weighing a vet visit. On the third day, I found a huge, fresh hairball puke on the way to the kitchen. By some miracle, I didn’t step in it. It took another day for her to get back to her lovey little self. I didn’t realize she had a hairball, she didn’t make any of the telltale noises or movements.

He was pretty late showing up last night, about 10 PM. And he hasn’t showed up yet tonight. It’s so cold he’s probably hiding out in the warm spot, I hope so. Carys is more than likely ok. Cats are funny. Patches will have a favorite spot for months and then ignore it again for months. Sometimes he sleeps all night with me. Sometimes not at all. It’s all about the warmth I think.

right after eating half a can of Fancy Feast turkey with gravy. She had been a little lethargic and stand offish the day before. Fortunately she did it on tile and not carpet so it was easy to clean up. She looked so sheepish afterward as if embarrassed about the mess.

I usually keep some cat grass in a container for her, but was out if it for a couple days after the last batch got old and withered. So I started another batch after the hairball incident.

She was back to her normal self today.
