Kind of surprised they all still fit!

(26,317 posts)I did try, one more time, to get Madoc to wear a collar. Suffice it to say he objected and I've finally accepted he's just going to go through life as an unembellished feline.

What about Gryff?
Siwsan
(26,317 posts)I didn't even attempt any collar activity with Gryff. He was already in a huff about being combed. Sometimes he's just fine with it. Yesterday, at that particular moment, he wasn't. I even got the flat ears and hiss treatment. A little while (and a few treats) later, he was most cooperative.
Thought bubble: upright can opener has no boundaries...cannot get good help these days.

(79 posts)Or two.
Given the size of his feet and ears, Arthur might just out size both of his brothers. Besides, he's already pretty much cemented his status as Alpha Cat in this house.

(21,756 posts)some Siamese or Abyssinian somewhere in his family tree. Both are known for their big ears. Siamese are cooperative about collars and even harnesses and leashes. Years ago, I had a half Siamese who was very comfortable taking walks on a leash.

(604 posts)it belongs to your boys and they just allow you to sit in it. the first rule of our feline rulers is they own it all and they just allow us to inhabit their world to use the can opener and litter duty.

(86,906 posts)Two weeks ago today, brought my 8 year old bluish tabby buddy - not really my cat - to my place to recover from living out in a place that's a little too wild for him. He had been attacked by a bird, probably an owl and other animals who were stealing his food. His human doesn't see him as much more than a mouse catcher. We all used to live at the same little ranchette until a year ago and he (Mikey) spent several months at my new place while his human's new house was being built, it was not done before the old place was sold, I was lucky to find housing at all.
So he's here and as he recovers he becomes the ruler he has always been, my chair is no longer mine, same with the middle half of the bed! He's a good sized 15lbs. and all stretched out is half my body height. But we love each other and that's what makes it doable.
It certainly has reshaped my daily life, mostly in good ways.

(86,906 posts)At least 60% of the time - much of that is spent sleeping, of course.

(16,620 posts)I know it's all in the past now, but I'm having fun am picturing Arthur's reaction if Gryff decided he wanted to get up first.
Cats are so good at flopping down on whatever is handy and then being shocked and offended if whatever they decided to flop on is removed or repositioned. At least mine is like that!
