He was VERY determined!!! Then he looked over at me and gave me a sweet, very tiny 'meow'. Probably saying "I almost caught it, mom! it was going to be a gift for you!!" Of course, that was just a ploy to stay out of trouble.

(21,774 posts)But I should have got it. My previous cat leaped onto a window screen when he was about 6 months old, trying to catch moths that were drawn to the screen because of indoor lights after dark. The kitten slammed against the screen so hard that he went right through it and landed on the lawn. Fortunately, it was a first floor window only a couple feet above the ground. Kitty was not hurt, but the screen had to be replaced.

(5,198 posts)Once in a while I need to coop up the cats so they don't escape the house when we have to work on it. They haven't managed to shred that yet. My Gisela uses it to reach the top of the refrigerator sometimes. She climbs it and just jumps right over to the fridge.

Maybe use a squirter to discourage him from climbing the door.

(26,324 posts)I've seen him go after flies that are on the screen but never go after a bird that's on the other side. It was so funny. My normal response just disappeared. Trust me - the boys all respect the mighty spray bottle.
