Welp, I just dropkicked my cat

I did not realize she was walking in front of my recliner, I jumped up to turn off the stove buzzer & Dixie got my foot in her tush.

She squawked, I stutter stepped, not easy with bad knees BTW. When I found her 5 minutes later, I checked, she seems ok, very pissed but ok.

I feel really bad, for both of us.

I can’t tell you how many times I have accidentally stepped on my dog’s tail. She just gets on top of me when I’m cooking sometimes. She lets out a squawk, too, but forgets about it 5 seconds later, thank goodness.

Glad she's okay, you're going to have to pay at some point, I'm sure you know!

Reminds me of a dream I had once that ended when I bit my cat. Don't ask, I'll tell...

I was in my late teens, had been on my own for a couple years and had the companionship of a lovely, smart Siamese cat. We had been together for a couple years by then. She slept along my right side with her head resting on my upper arm.

So, in the dream, I was sleeping at my dad's in my old room when my slightly older brother, who was an asshole, burst into the room, flung me out of bed, lifted the mattress and to my astonishment, there was a lot of cash! A small pile of C-notes and $50s which he proceeded to scoop up claiming I owed it to him, which I did not. Worse, there I was holding the mattress up on edge while he was scooping up what should be my money since it's in my bed even if I had no idea how it got there... according to him it was mine. Realizing I needed to stop my brother from taking my cash I had to act quickly. Since I was holding up the mattress I decided to just reach out and bite his arm, which I did only to find my cat's paw in my mouth! We both awoke stunned. She quickly slapped my face a number of times, ran across the room and growled at me. It took a few days for her to stop giving me the stink-eye/cold shoulder but she forgave me eventually, I think.

usually snuggled up next to my stomach. One night I woke up in the middle of the night and there was a weight on my chest. As I brought my hands up to move it I felt fur and I guess I panicked. At about the same second I pushed to fling this mystery object off of my chest, my brain finished waking up and figured out it was the cat.

I got the lights on and kitty was several feet across the room, looking kind of nervous. I went and petted him and apologized, and we finally settled back to sleep. But he never slept up on my chest again.

of his recliner a few years ago, after he accidentally put the footrest down on one of our boys. Kitty was not injured, but we didn't want to risk anything happening again because we were in the process of adopting a small kitten. He is disabled and cannot move that fast, so he bought himself a nice ergonomic chaise lounge instead.
