Got the news on my dog

Turns out Hudson has osteosarcoma, surgery not an option where it is in his jaw . Radiation is a possibility and we have a good canine oncologist nearby in Delaware (Veterinary Specialty Center of Delaware) so that will be the next stop.

He is about to start living his best life, though. I'm a vegetarian, but I will be hitting up the meat department at my local Shoprite this evening. A trip to the beach this weekend and, if we can swing it, a road trip to Mt. Desert Island in Maine to visit his labrador friends Hope & Faith in their new home may be in the cards. He's gonna see all his friends in the coming weeks: Penny, the other Penny, Clyde, Pepper, Magic, Bowie, Truffles, and Sadie.

Thanks for all the support

3. Aw, I wish the news was better. But Hudson is so lucky to have you as his mom.

And you will never wonder if you did everything you could for him. You have and you will. I hope Hudson still has lots of joy with you--and you with him--in his remaining time.

9. Oh so sorry for this sad news. I had a cat (my heart kitty) who had something very similar.

By the time we figured out what was going on her pain level was too high to keep her on this earth, even though I would have given everything to have her for a little longer. I could see the pain in her eyes and let her go to the happy kitty hunting ground. She took my heart with her.

Please be sure to check out the Turmeric User Group on Facebook for information about making “golden paste”. It’s not considered a medication but is a food with anti-inflammatory properties. The moderators of the group are very knowledgeable and very responsive. There are a lot of dog people that use this as well as cat people - and humans themselves, too.

I have one cat with cancer and I believe that golden paste, added to her vet care, has helped with her quality of life. The golden paste is very easy to make with only four ingredients.

You’ll need to obviously educate yourself and decide if this might benefit your sweetie’s situation - but I wanted to mention it.

Sending hugs...
