Recommendations for pet steps?

I have a 9 year old, 45 lb dog who is now having trouble getting on my bed (his favorite place). It's a highish bed -- almost 30" and I'm getting pretty tired of getting up at night to hoist him back on the bed. (If I don't, he will endlessly whimper and whine until I do).

Most of the steps I see online are for little dogs, are too narrow, or too short, or won't hold a heavier dog, or get 1-star reviews.

So if anyone has one and can vouch for it, please let me know.

Lots of options in ramps. That might be a better choice. hlthe2b Jan 2020 #1

I did that with Angel Duke. He would sleep next to me in cold weather, but not in warm weather irisblue Jan 2020 #10

Might be too intrusive into the room (not a big bedroom). I'll take a look.

Depending on how a person wants to use it, it can be folded and leaned up against a wall. I had a 75 pound dog so his ramp was somewhat large and heavy. But there may be smaller, lighter options.

It also can help them get into vehicles.

Good luck.

As our dogs aged and couldn't get in truck I built a portable ramp they could walk up on. When dog boarding grooming place saw it manager asked me to build one for them to get dogs into tub for baths.

I think that I've figured out that my dog is a big faker!

He often gets on my bed during the day -- so what's up with middle of the night refusal?

Just last night -- at 2 in the morning he jumped off the bed to go to the kitchen to get a drink of water. When he came back, he started up with the whining again.

So I got up, passed him right by, and went to the bathroom. When I came back, he was ON MY BED!

He obviously CAN get on the bed. Maybe he is just darned lazy.

Anyway -- I have ordered steps. We'll see how it goes. Probably not good, since he has NEVER voluntarily gone up the stairs to our second floor.

We have a 14 year old dog that's over 60 lbs. Once we did that he started sleeping the floor right next to our bed. Go figure!
