Last night, on the local news, it was reported that 14 wild horses had been shot in Heber, AZ. Intentionally. Some were foals.

It is hard to concentrate on forgiving people when they show they are monsters.

There are no clues.

But, a few months back an asshole shot two horses that were grazing in the front pasture of a family's home. Reward posted, outrage in the paper, letters of condemnation - no one found yet. And this was in a fairly well populated area.

I am not able to closely follow the fires in Australia for the same reason. It is too painful. I sent money to some of the animal relief groups going over, but that is such a tiny gesture.

It hurts to see animals facing intentional cruel acts such as the horrible person shooting them indiscriminately--but also the cruel act of ignoring global warming and climate change.

4. Yes, the plight of the AU koalas is heartbreaking but for me, it is the 10,000 camels they

murdered because the camels had the audacity to need water to drink because of the fire.

Not even the good news about more info that's taking down trump is enough to dull the heartache I feel.

Because they've been trying to get them off public lands for years--our land that they lease for next to nothing to graze their cattle.

As for horses over our way (KY), I suspect younger ones that received guns for xmas. But you're right--some people like to kill just for the hell of it. There were some horse shootings going on along Highway 180 when I lived in that part of Calif.

This is why I close my pasture gates at night, so the horses can't get down next to the road. There are assholes everywhere.
