On the sofa with our land walrus

The golden retriever and I’m rubbing him and I am hearing golden moans and groans. Of oh man I’m happy just keep it up these snuggles and ear rubs their the best .
And remember man I smell the bacon and I do like tummy yummies preferably with eggs. I look into mister eyes and mushy face and he is one sweet soul.

I became friends with a lady and her wonderful golden boy, Tommy, in my and Layla's beginning agility classes a little over 5 years ago. Tommy would come up to people for lovin's and make those adorable happy sounds, my girl would get very jealous but I couldn't keep my hands of that big, sweet dog. Tommy passed a few weeks ago from cancer, he was only 7, same age as Layla (I have also known 15 or 16 year old Goldens, so not trying to scare you more than any of us worry about our pets), and I feel like I have lost a friend, these dogs just love everybody so much. I will always miss Tommy and he wasn't even my dog.

On a much lighter note, a big older Golden was one of the few dogs Layla would give the time of day to at agility trials, she just really liked him. He was recently retired from agility competition simply because he is getting up in years, still healthy and happy though.

My Border Collie pup 'Ryn' is on the couch on her back, with her front legs sticking straight up, white paws bent down, her back legs and feet are straight out like two rigid sticks. Her amber/golden eyes are closed.

She wants her little, pink tummy rubbed and I oblige! If I stop, she immediately nudges and lifts my arm or my hand with her head to let me know we're NOT done yet!

But if I ask her, "Where's your bone?", she immediately jumps up to go find it!
If I say, "I hear a birdie!", she bolts out her pet door down to the pond to see if Mr. Blue Heron is stalking the trout and minnows!

The wicked-smart Border is increasing her vocabulary every day! She KNOWS what item to fetch and bring to my feet when I say "ball", "frisbee", squeaky-chicken", "bone", "stick" and on and on. Amazing!
