2. Things my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter likes

Little animal sets, like a farm set, especially with horses.

Big LEGOs, I think they’re called Duplos.

Paint with water mats. You can get them on Amazon. They’re called Aqua Magic Doodle Mats.

I don’t know if she gets to watch TV but my granddaughter loves the Netflix show Spirit. It’s about a girl and her horse.

3. Plushies are good at that age

Especially if she likes Disney or something similar.

Books are a great gift too. Our daughter was really into books at that age.

Toys are always safe, as long as they’re not particularly loud.

We had our daughter listening to classical music. You could get her own boom box and some children’s classical CDs.

4. I have a three year old granddaughter.

I just bought her a stuffed Olaf (from Frozen) and she carries it everywhere. Also, Tickle Me Elmo has been a big hit. She also loves anything Daniel Tiger, especially the books! Enjoy your time with her 😊

6. Toddlers love

crayons and paper or coloring books and play doh. Hint for random play doh: let it dry and then it will sweep or vacuum up easily.

7. My advice:

Get toys, that are her age appropriate, that are things YOU like to play with.

She wants to play with YOU!

9. Books

Get books that can’t easily be torn. We read constantly to my twin almost-two year old granddaughters and they spend hours “reading” the books on their own.
Their favorites are some reproductions of colorful classic 1940s and 50s Disney books - Mickey, Goofy etc. When they do accidentally tear a page they will say “Dada fix it” since he has retaped some of the books numerous times.

13. Lots of good ideas!

My grands like mega blocks, coloring books w fat crayons, paintbox to paint on printer paper, play doh, Little People toys, and big boxes to crawl in and make forts!! Or even pillows and blankets to make a fort and sit in to read books! They also like to bake w me-something easy like stir up a brownie mix or ice and sprinkle sugar cookies. The water mats are good too. I think Melissa and Doug make spiral tablets that are paint with water. Got some for the kiddos to use on a road trip. Found them at JoAnn fabrics. I hope you have a blast playing with your grand!!!

16. Home made play dough

Ingredients:
1 cup of plain flour
1 Tbsp. of cooking oil
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 cup of colored water ( 1 cup water with food coloring)
½ cup of salt

Mix all ingredients in a non-stick pan or a well seasoned iron skillet. Stir over medium heat until it forms play dough, about three minutes. Let cool before letting the little darlings play with it.

It will keep indefinitely in a zip lock bag and in the fridge when not playing with it. Best of all it does not crumb or stain carpet as the commercial version does.

When my so was very young and had friends over, I'd ask the kid what was his favorite color and then go make play dough. I was very popular!
