It's not just pungency, you want the duller flavor sir pball Aug 2020 #4
Perhaps it might have something to do with the herbs turning black if not eaten that same day MagickMuffin Aug 2020 #5

I am so hungry for it.
This video is well done. Every step, clearly illustrates the process of adding and combining ingredients. She also gives helpful tips, along the way, on whisking dairy together first, first, then adding seasonings and herbs, explaining why she is using dry seasonings. I can't wait to make a batch to eat it it with veggies. I wonder if I could make a smoothie using it.

Thank you, for posting it.

explained why dried herbs (rarely ever use) better than fresh. If it's only pungency levels, there are conversions out there. Not sure why you'd go to all this trouble and then not use fresh herbs?

I know it sounds counterintuitive, but for the right "ranch" flavor, you need the different profile of dried herbs vs. fresh - milder, without any of the sharp, fresh notes...a backing harmony, not the main note.

It's the same with country/sausage gravy - it needs a TON of stale, preground black pepper, for the deeper flavors without the piquancy of fresh-cracked. I tried making it with fresh once and it was just all wrong; I always keep a tin of McCormack around specifically for that use.

ETA - didn't watch the recipe as I have my own, but they also should have used garlic and onion powder, for the same reasons.

That would be my guess as to not using fresh herbs.
