Ingredients
1 small seedless watermelon
1/4 cup olive oil
Salt and black pepper
4 ounces Monterey Jack cheese sliced
Instructions
Pre-heat your grill to medium-high.
Cut the rind off the watermelon to make a square and cut lengthwise into quarters.
Then cut 1 1/2-inch-thick slices that are rind-free.
Mix the olive oil and the salt and pepper. Brush the mixture on the watermelon slices.
Grill or for 5 minutes on each side until the flesh is dried out and slightly carmelized.
Place the cheese on top, cover the grill and cook for one minute, just until the cheese melts.
Serve on buns!

(5,689 posts)And this guy peeled a watermelon leaving a tiny bit of white. Then cut the bottom so it would sit flat and then scored it like a ham. Then he smoked it like a ham and damned if that thing didn't look exactly like a baked ham! I wanted to taste it and may try it. I would try the watermelon burger.
One real good salad with watermelon that doesn't sound good but is efding awesome:
Watermelon chunked
Red onion diced
Cilantro
Feta cheese
Salt
The juice of the melon combines with salt to make a fine dressing. Super good summer salad.

(22,228 posts)Waste of watermelon. I live on it through the summer, pure and unadulterated. Certainly not cooked! Nothing better than an icy cold one when its hot. Mine will be ready to start picking in a few weeks.

(10,181 posts)and I have to agree: waste of watermelon. It had the texture and taste of a slice of watermelon you cut about a week ago and left in the fridge to dry out, only hot.
