I would barbeque one half, and make a Texas style chile con carne with the rest. I'm not sure how much meat is involved.

I would open-fire roast or grill.
IF I were hungry & in the wild. Like starving and on the show Alone.

They're probably not so cute when you're starving though.

As a child my family raised them for sale as food. Didn't sell all that well for the reason you intimate so we went back to chickens. Cute little baby chicks . . .

I grew up on a farm and learned early on that you don't name the food animals.

6. Lol. I hear you. I also grew up on a farm. The day of 'butchering' chickens, (literally)

..was an exciting event for us kids.
We climbed the board fence & laughed & cheered when my dad sliced the heads off the chickens & watched as they flopped around the grass.
It was just how things were then, but honestly no grandkid of mine would ever be witnessing such primal thing today.
I doubt we grew up any worse for it.

I can't believe we did that. 😟
It's just how life was.

I'm sure my 'hmm factor' comes from never having the experience .

But your statement simplifies it all.

I would braze one in the oven with rosemary, olive oil, and red wine. Just like my mom used to. I had to have been around four or five years old but I remember it being so flavorful and tender.

Where did you get them? I just looked at rabbit in my neighborhood market. It was frozen and had a price tag of $37. Going to look for cheaper sources…

I live in an interesting little town. Not big on code enforcement . . . Or code.

the flavor was fine but it was tough. I remember buying them frozen at the grocery store, but I don't think I have seen one in 20 years.
