(1,704 posts)for my husband, (his actual birthday is tomorrow but he has to work all day). New York strip steak garnished with compound butters. I saw this article, https://jesspryles.com/recipe/flavored-compound-butters-perfect-steak/ , and besides our standard bleu cheese butter with Maytag Blue, we had "Bloody Mary" butter with sun dried tomatoes, horseradish and Old Bay. Sides were roasted asparagus and a zucchini casserole with sour cream and cheese. My husband thinks it isn't a steak dinner without baked potatoes, so we had those too. (I'm saving mine for breakfast). We had a Slovenian sauvignon wine that our son had bought recently when visiting friends in his college town.
