Toasted potato buns.
Minced onion.
Shredded cheddar cheese.
Sauerkraut.
Spicy brown mustard.
Heinz ketchup.
Mac 'n' cheese.
Green salad.

My 24-year old son has been staying with us and he chose the menu for tonight.

Just sayin'.

I cut up a whole chicken and fried it yesterday and we ate it for lunch and dinner. All that's left are two wings, one leg and the back, so I'm going to pick off all the meat and heat it up in some BBQ sauce then add it to a big clean-out-the-fridge salad, and some garlic bread.

Beans cooked in the last of the ham stock from the freezer with cubes of ham (from the same ham) plus the usual carrots, celery, onion and lots of garlic. I put some wedges of cabbage in for the last 20 minutes or so.

FLFC has been finicky about eating lately. Nothing seems to suit him other than Temptations cat treats. Tonight after some persuasion he ate his small burger prepared this afternoon and some sausage balls.

Still haven’t gotten a grill for my new house. So, I seared the filet on all sides in a dry pan, then turned down the heat and added butter, diced mushrooms, thin sliced onions, and fresh thyme. Covered the pan and let it simmer on low for a few minutes. It made a lovely sauce. Served with leftover garlic mashed potatoes. No veg because I am eating horribly this week.

I would have had some spinach, but it was out of stock when I picked up my curbside grocery order. The “no substitutions” button is both a blessing and a curse.

For dessert: the rest of the bag of chocolates I started on yesterday.
