I went to a new restaurant the other day...

It's called "The "Kitchen"

You must gather all your ingredients and make your own meals. I have no clue how this place is still in business!

I've been sending my MIL jokes via snail mail. I found this one online and thought I'd share with C&B

but since the lockdown, I've started using up staples and things like carrots that are good keepers instead of more fragile fare like salad greens. I've been making friends with old favorites again.

It helps that I put in an enormous order to Penzey's just before the lockdown.

Anyone who wants to live economically or even make as few shopping trips as possible really needs to learn how to cook and anyone who can read and follow directions can learn.

I've found I really do prefer my own cooking to anything I get out.

You're right. It's rare to find restaurant food that is better than what you can make on your own. The amount of salt used by others is a big factor in why we limit restaurant foods. I still want BBQ every once in a while and that takes some planning at home. Otherwise, eating out was usually social for me. Meeting friends for lunch or dinner.

I don't really miss it much. I miss the conversations but I have a phone.
