(3,433 posts)Your explanation of travel and the fact you will show at a fair reminds me of Caroline Shawk Brooks. She sculpted in butter and became very well known in the mid to late 19th century. She started sculpting in butter to generate income for her family farm. She too displayed her art at fairs in the beginning. She unfortunately didn't have the benefit if paved roads and automobiles. Can you imagine having to travel long distances on a horse and carriage!?

I enjoyed a wonderful cruise around southeast Alaska, aboard a 62 passenger ship. Such memories.
