I am making pumpkin-apple soup. I have a couple chorizos sausages roasting, along with more baked apples.
It's a light dinner tonight, as the RG and I went to the Portuguese restaurant earlier in the day for lunch. I had shrimp scampi there, as well as the most delicious tossed green salad.

(14,733 posts)Housemate went for the leftover parmesan chicken, I used up some of the roast, and hoping I didn't eat too much of it.
Spring cleaning continues apace, and I filled the new large recycle bin for the second time in a row. I think I'm about done with that, as I've probably eliminated half of all the papers I had lying around in my rooms by now, and am now down to mostly just financial paperwork and nursing class paperwork now, with a small stack of coding notes. Actually started sorting through and started pitching old cd's now, things like old versions of linux games that no longer work on newer versions of the OS, or cd's of 'google tools' that came with who knows what piece of oem hardware, or install disks for hard drives I've already replaced. The wall behind where the server was sitting for the last decade or so is filthy, though, and rubbing wet paper towels across it left it streaky to boot. I need to go look up how to wash flat (or maybe semi-gloss) interior paint walls.

(146,218 posts)I got through two closets and a storage compartment on Friday and filled 3 trash bags with clothes that will be taken up to the surrounding mountain communities.
But what I really ned to get to is the paper. I've been involved in a lawsuit for the past 8 years after someone crashed into our boat and I have massive amounts of paper that I just need to throw away.
And lots of CD's, dvd's and tangly wires really need to go.
We have such a small amount of space and are pretty good about keeping things to a minimum, but sometimes a purge is called for.

(14,733 posts)But I probably need to get rid of about half of those at the very least. I suspect I actually only wear about 25% of what I've got.

I'm with you, I tend to wear the same things all the time.

(146,218 posts)I have a hankering. I really don't like the way they make them here. They are kind of mushy and too wet and have an odd taste. I'm not sure what they do to them.
So I just got some ground beef from the butcher and I'm making my own.
I've got some poblanos I am going to pan-roast, but they seem really hot, so I'm not so sure. I find them really unpredictable.

(50,130 posts)I have to remember to grab a handful of fresh rosemary, though, because I am O-U-T. My neighbor keeps a plant next to the road for the community to share freely. Nice.
Re: spring cleaning, ow! I am cleaning out a storage space filled to the top. 10x20 feet! Some boxes of papers and things I haven't seen for many years. Finding lots of goodies for driveway sale. It's dirty work! But I don't want anyone else to do it. First I have to cull the books. I hate that. I love books.
I was diligent the other day and culled my recipe clippings from old magazines!

(35,798 posts)Was a lot of work, but I was fairly happy with it. I forgot to mention I put TJ's butternut ravioli in it. They are so good!
The slow-roasted chorizos were out of this world! Roasted them at 250 for ...well, hours. Finally, there was something missing, so I decided to put chopped sage on top, along with the chopped turkey bacon the recipe designated.
This is a distinctive soup and the recipe made a lot, so I think I'll freeze some and also give friends some, too.

here's the type of pumpkin I used
