(22,812 posts)My wife and daughters took off for a gal's weekend. So I'm on my own. So I plan on eating the junk food we normally don't ever eat. Chips and dip. Plenty of beer. Shrimp Tempura from Trader Joe's. And probably a late snack of cheese melted over Trisquits. Tomorrow I'll eat healthier.

(35,825 posts)I'm making Chinese tonight:
--stir-fry vegetables (baby bok choy, carrots, etc.)
--tri-tip, marinated in teriyaki sauce
--potstickers (chicken & cilantro, from Trader Joe's)
I really want some noodles, but I've been gardening all day and know I will not be ambitious enough to make that, too.

(8,646 posts)I cheated, instead of a whole bird, I just took some thighs and drumsticks (bone in, skin on - operation "empty the freezer" and roasted them like I would a whole bird. Made gravy and mashed potatoes. Also had a salad and asparagus. I was excited about the salad - I was able to cut some cress sprouts from my garden, and also had some radish sprouts from my sprouter and add them to the salad. It made the salad very tasty even without dressing (I ended up making my own dressing, basic oil and vinegar w/some spices).
