(106,886 posts)Baked, topped with toasted stale bread crumble and butter, then run under the broiler till just browned.
Or, defrost some ground meat and it's shepherd's pie.

(28,519 posts)My SO brought home about 5 lbs of potatoes last week and I'm at a loss as to how to cook them all before they start sprouting. He also smoked a turkey on the grill and I'm at a loss how to use up all that. This seems like a recipe I can modify to use both my overstock items. Right on!

Salad on the side. I still have lots of last night's broccoli left but will eat that later in the week.
On edit: I had bought these chops at Trader Joe's. They were far better than most pork chops and comparably priced. Also, they were about 3/4" thick.

Arugula and strawberry salad.
I have pics, but will post them tomorrow. In a rush to get more gardening done before the sunlight fades.

(28,519 posts)SO smoked a turkey on the grill the other day, so let the leftovers begin!! We'll have nice grilled hard rolls, the smoked turkey, melt some garlic cheddar cheese over the top, and a couple slices of avacado. The only question that remains is:
what kind of spice should I add to the mayo to really kick it up??
NJCher
(35,825 posts)That sounds divine.
I don't know if you like chipotle, but that would be my choice!

(28,519 posts)There's a spice whose name is escaping me today. Very maddening because it's really, really what I would have liked to go with the mayo. I want to call it Anatole, but that's a mouse, the main character in a children's book.
Grrr! What is it?!?!

(28,519 posts)of the restaurant where I'd eaten a kind of mayo-y sauce to on their menu for the condiment I was thinking of. I'm actually thinking of aioli sauce, which is, indeed, kind of mayo-y. The thing is, their aioli sauce is pink, whereas all the aioli sauce photos I found online are white, like actual mayo. So I still don't know what spice they add to make it pink - and which is probably what gives it the flavor I want to duplicate in my kitchen.
