I'll make a X4 batch so I can put the rest in the freezer. Since the weatherman got it wrong and my garden is freshly soaked, I have several hours to fill while it dries out.

8 tomatillas, paper pealed off - boil until soft
Put into blender until smooth.
Roast 6 jalapeno peppers until the skin turns black and peals off easily remove seeds
Roast 5-6 Annahyme(sp) peal, seed
3-4 cloves of garlic
Bunch green onions chopped clear up onto the green parts
Cilantro chopped up to taste
Blend it all in the blender until smooth.
Add lime and salt to taste.

Thanks for the tip. That would lend an extra layer of flavor. My current batch is pretty spicy. It turns into a gel that stores well in the frig. It's good on every thing!

(35,825 posts)It's hot here; not supposed to break until Monday. Thus:
Cold poached salmon. Sour dream/dill sauce.
Cold broccoli with sundried tomatoes, pine nuts, and feta cheese.
Cucumbers in vinegar.
For dessert: frozen pear/mint yogurt smoothie that I made myself with fresh mint from the garden.
White wine.
