Actually, I don't put anything on the tofu cubes when I bake them. I just might give nutritional yeast a try.

I'd be a little afraid of it for two reasons: the strong flavor might be a bit much and baking might turn it bitter. Also, you wouldn't get the crispiness you do from corn starch, although I confess I use cornmeal for baking or deep frying it.

It's nothing I'd do but I'm curious to know how well it turns out.

the only way I can eat tofu. Completely coat it and bake until done. First I "soak" the tofu in tamari and then coat the tofu in yeast.
