I just put a bourbon cake in the oven!

It's going to start smelling really good in here in a little bit.

The cake will be auctioned at our next County fundraiser:

The Opal Lee Empowerment Luncheon (First Annual)

The keynote speaker is Rep Colin Allred

We also have 3 bottles of booze and a coupon for a tour and tasting at Acre Distillery in downtown Fort Worth. The owner is a solid Democrat, and always has something for us when I call him . If you are even in Fort Worth, check out his place; it is a short walk from the Convention Center. https://www.acredistilling.com/

The cake is made with his bourbon.

Just so you know, a bourbon is just a good rum cake recipe with a booze substitution.

It was not even remotely "intoxicating." I've since learned that if you add ENOUGH rum, then enough remains so that yeah, probably not something to feed the kiddies.

So, how much bourbon do you add?

Another person paid $85 ! for a certificate from me to order a cake when they need it; they can choose what they want.

Tony's booze did very well too.

The luncheon was great and Rep Alread was great and Miss Opal was absolutely delightful as usual.
